22 January 2024- Ram Mandir pranpratishta in Ayodhya by Prime Minister Modi

Historical significance:

Ram Temple is dedicated to Lord Rama, a revered figure in Hinduism, and is considered to be the birthplace of Lord Rama.

Ayodhya, where the temple is located, holds great significance in Hindu mythology as it is considered the birthplace of Lord Rama.

हरि अनंत हरि कथा अनंता। कहहिं सुनहिं बहुबिधि सब संता॥

1.Ayodhya dispute:

The construction of the Ram temple has been a bone of contention for decades, mainly involving land in Ayodhya.

The Ayodhya dispute was a legal and political conflict between the Hindu and Muslim communities over the ownership of the site of the Babri Masjid.

2. Babri Masjid demolition:

Babri Masjid, built in the 16th century, stood at the disputed site of Ayodhya.

On 6 December 1992, a group of Hindu activists demolished the Babri Masjid, leading to communal tension and legal battles.

3.Supreme Court Decision (2019):

On November 9, 2019, the Supreme Court of India made a historic decision and settled the Ayodhya dispute.

The court ruled in favor of the construction of the Ram temple, saying the disputed land belonged to Hindus, and alloted an alternative area to Muslims for the construction of the mosque.

4.Bhoomi Pujan (August 5, 2020):

Bhoomi Pujan for the construction of Ram temple took place on August 5, 2020.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was also present at the event, which celebrated an important moment in the history of the temple’s construction.

5.Construction Progress:

After the Bhoomi Pujan, the construction of the Ram temple began in earnest.

Skilled artisans and strong hands are working on the intricate architectural design of the temple, which is expected to be a magnificent structure.

6.Inauguration (22 January2024):

The grand opening of the Ram temple is scheduled for January 22 by prime minister Modi, a momentous occasion for millions of devotees that holds cultural, religious, and historical significance.
